People majoing in Nursing in College?

That is what I am going to be doing. At my school, Georgia State University, you have to keep a 3.7 GPA all through out College to stay in the program, and if your GPA sinks below that, you will be withdrawn from that program and most of the classes you took would only be counted as electives toward another major.

What is it like? Is it hard? Interesting? Anything? Do you like what you are doing? Or do you regret it? Is it worth it? Do you have any advice?

I have always found science to be interesting, but hard. I was originally required to take two two-part science classes, a certain type of chem and bio, in the first semester, but bio was full so I am only taking chemistry and will take bio in the summer or fall.

Anyway, any kind of advice or info would be really helpful. By the way I believe my education will be paid for by grants.

Nursing is all about critical thinking. If you have got that, you would not have hard time staying in the program. The aptitude for helping other people should be must. Although nurses gets paid reasonably, they have to do some nasty stuff as well. My cousin was a nursing major. The only people she had staying the program was that she did not have critical thinking. She did very good with patients, writing reports and everything but she sucked at her exams. The exams are mostly multiple choice asking about if this is the way patient would react, what would you do? So ethics/critical thinking/interest is what it's all about.

Is it hard? Yes it is hard. Yes it's true you have to maintain 3.7 GPA to stay in the program, and it's not just in GSU.

Is it interesting? It depends on you. Do you like to help other people? Do you see yourself working as RN or nurse? Do you see yourself working 12 hours a day? And note that in the beginning nurses generally work for only 3 days for 12 hours.

And there is no chemistry in Nursing.. it's about anatomy of the body, some biology
