Apply for as many scholarships as you think you need to, and maybe then even more because the more you apply for the more you can win. So if possible, find all the eligible scholarship programs and get started applying.
When applying for the scholarship opportunities that you want to focus on, it can be a good idea to recycle your scholarship essays. Having a main essay that you can tweak for different scholarship programs can help you to more easily get the essay part done and still have a strong essay to present to the scholarship committee.

How can I have a scholarship program in american iniversities?
I am studying economics in a university in Ethiopia. But i want to continue the post graduating progamme after the next june. can you help me how can i have such opportunities?
ok, so i am actually doing the same thing. i graduate march of next year and am hoping to study in america and get a scholarship while living and studying there.
so far, what has helped me a lot is getting information through university rankings then choosing the possibly good schools i am interested in and check out their write-ups in wikipedia, and of course check out their respective websites.
as For Scholarships, they usually say in their websites if they offer any. but from what i've experienced (international exchange to japan), you can try searching for companies that might be willing to sponsor your studies. these companies will almost always want you to work for them, plus you should be a good candidate yourself. these info you can get through the embassy or the internet. if you pick a school and need more unavailable info about it, then simply send an e-mail.
a lot of my teachers in college who teach part-time and work part-time somewhere else occupy themselves with these jobs to make their resumes look better. i think this is a very good idea too, as i will do this if i can't get the scholarship i want.
i hope i was of any help... good luck to both of us.
